Tally of items from 100 Bellem's Boxes

We've tallied up our results from yesterday and came up with the following:

In terms of value, the potential value of the items from the boxes seems to exceed the fixed cost of obtaining the boxes. Just selling the equipment to the NPCs would only recover about half the cost of the boxes. To really take advantage of the items would require selling them on the market to other families. Hence, it would depend upon one's luck in obtaining high level equipment, enchantment chips, mission lobbies, spinelles, and gems.

Bellem's Boxes

Tonight, we did the planned activity that we mentioned a few days ago. We brought 100 Bellem's Boxes, opened them all, and recorded what dropped. From our initial investment of 1 million vis (10,000 per box times 100 boxes), it was apparent that we made principal back when 2 Level 88 Enchantment Chips dropped. Selling all of the dropped equipment below level 56 (except 1) to the NPCs netted us about 300,000 vis. The 1 low level item that dropped which we didn't sell was an Old Wood Pendent which would sell for 100,000 to an NPC by itself.

Other interesting items of note was a Fallen Champion Spinelle, Orange Dye, Warp Scroll to Bahamar Ancient Mineral Cave (no clue where that is), and a bunch of odd desserts (foods that give spell enchantments). More details to come as we tally up the various items.

Mystery Boxes back

It looks like the Mystery Boxes have been restored to players who lost them. We saw some being list on the market. However, the asking prices are in the range of 60 million vis. Pity the fool who buys it and gets only Otite Perfume.

Evening's activities

For the 2 hour period that we ventured out tonight, Calypso managed to reach level 78, hence enabling the rescue knight's and miner's quests in El Canon. From their quests, we managed to obtain 6 level 80 experience cards, some toolboxes, and some magical orbs. Fortunately, we were lucky with drops tonight as we picked up about 10 pieces of equipment (6 of which we later converted to level 84 enchantment chips), and about 30 Treasure Cores. We had thought to put these Treasure Cores on the market but unfortunately, there's maintenance tonight.

On the forum, there is a thread about someone proposing to sell fesos at a rate of 1 feso to 50 vis on Orpesia. That family also suggested adjusting the price of bazaar items to match that ratio. Although that seems to be double the normal price of fesos there, we saw broadcasts on Bristia from buyers willing to pay that price. As a testament to how expensive our server is, a seller on Bristia demonstrated what he saw in his cabinet by showing a picture of 100 Upgrade Accelerators that sold for over 250 million vis. Not only that but it was all brought by only 1 buyer as it is only 1 entry.

This makes it tempting for us to start selling bazaar items again but as we have nothing we want to purchase with vis, our vis levels are quite adequate. We only need 10 more Pure Otite for the not so distant future but as they are selling at a price between 3 million and 4 million, it makes more sense to farm them ourselves when the time comes.

Barstool

Tonight, we managed to locate the infamous Barstool of Illier since he was on a rare visit to our world Bristia this week. We secretly took a photo to commemorate the event. It may require viewing the photo in full size to see his family name.

Rumors / News?

From the forums, we heard that:
  • Mystery Boxes have disappeared. We already knew that they have disappeared from everyone last week and we have been fortunate that we have already opened all ours. The new part is that the Premium packages sold no longer offers them and instead increased the Gold amount from 8000 to 10100 for the most expensive package. There was speculation that the price of promotional characters (Emilia the Sage, Soho the Fighter, Adelina the Pirate, and Idge the Battlesmith) will skyrocket as no new ones will be created in the world as they only come from the Mystery Boxes.
  • Everett, clan leader of Ceres is leaving the game. We haven't encountered her personally but she was a long time player and forum moderator.
  • Puddingeaters the troublemaker is leaving. Another long time player. This is almost like an eulogy.

  • Median: 950k - A family named Deathly_Vengence is selling 450+ of them, hence dragging the median price down to minimum levels.

Pure Otite

  • Min: 2,000,000
  • Max: 4,200,000
  • Median: 4,200,000 - No relief in prices for these unfortunately.

Treasure Core

  • Min: 150,000 - Our selling price, severely undercutting the competition.
  • Max: 1,100,000 - Wonder if it's the same seller that we've been seeing recently.
  • Median: 220,000 - Most were in this range.

Upgrade Accelerator

  • Min: 2,400,000
  • Max: 2,500,000
  • Median: 2,499,999 - Prices are pretty stable with a small but relatively decent volume.

Enchant Booster

Market prices over time

With all the discussions about Bristia's inflated prices on the forums, we dug through our old entries and compiled a price graph of commonly used commodities. As we don't have many data points, the graph is sort of sparse. We've also excluded ultra expensive items such as the Level 100 Enchantment Chip as it made everything else look like a flat line. Looking at the graph, easy to farm commodities such as Treasure Cores and Level 84 Enchantment Chips seem to have a stable price over time while bazaar items such as Mysterious Powder show a steady upward creep. Could this be an indication that there are less bazaar item sellers?

This afternoon, we got lucky with the market. We managed to snatch up some Mysterious Powder for only 400,000 vis when all the other prices were between 1.2 million and 1.4 million with the majority being 1.29 million.

Day's activities

Today, we brought a more advanced team to Old Port of Coimbra. We also noticed that the lag from yesterday was gone too. As a result, it was pretty easy there, even with Grace using Standing Shot rather than Gigante Blaster.

For server news, it seems that the Illier server is down and hence players from that server have been flooding into ours. Denizens from the Illier server created an Illier clan and have managed to recruit 100 members. As to whether all 100 members of the Illier clan are really from Illier is unknown but from the broadcasts, we do recognize some Illier family names. Even the infamous Barstool broadcasted some messages.

Server lag

Tonight, we spent a few minutes attempting Old Port of Coimbra with a level 72 Captain Adelina, level 72 Calypso, and level 90 Emilia. Normally, it would be easy to survive there but there seemed to be lag tonight. Characters didn't respond to move and attack commands instantly and even while in action, their speed seemed slower than the skeleton's. There was even a case where Adelina just stopped attacking a skeleton even though she wasn't knocked back. It was only after awhile that she started to attack again. Meanwhile, the skeleton was slicing away nonstop. As a result, it soon became difficult to survive. Guess we'll visit again some other night.

While wandering around Port Coimbra tonight, we saw someone from GreatJustice with polearm we've never seen before. It was gold in color with blue lightning flowing around the length of the weapon (lightning not shown in picture) and the ends of the cross were tipped.

+50% experience

On the forums, there was a message from the AM that for the next 3 days (today, tomorrow, Friday), there will be a 50% experience bonus. We gave it a try as we haven't logged on for the past few days. The bonus was pretty noticeable as our Calypso managed to gain 29% experience (at level 72) in just a under an hour at El Canon, which is pretty fast for us.

State of the economy of Bristia

We haven't been adventuring lately (at least not on this world) so the only thing we can report on is this. Prices are in vis and recorded off the market manager.

Mysterious Powder (60 items)
  • Minimum : 1,000,000 - Looks like MPs have finally hit the 1 million mark and consistently stayed there. Forrunately, we have a huge store of them sitting unused.
  • Maximum: 1,333,333
  • Median: 1,050,000 - This seems like a huge jump from the last time we checked but then, volume was only a tenth of last time.

Pure Otite (19)

  • Minimum: 1,699,999
  • Maximum: 1,700,000
  • Median: 1,700,000 - This seems to be the going price for the last few days. Perhaps we should buy 10 but we won't need it for another 29 levels if ever.

Treasure Core (1300+)

  • Minimum: 84,000
  • Maximum: 99,999
  • Median: 89,500 - There's a family that's been trying to unload 1200 of these the past few days and have been steadily lowering their price as their inventory doesn't seem to be moving that quickly. Last checked, they still have more than 1000 pieces left. Of course, this means that we won't be selling any while they are still trying to unload.

Level 84 Enchantment Chip (lots of seller but probably not too many items)

  • Minimum: 460,000
  • Maximum: 600,000
  • Median: 550,000 - Prices seem pretty stable.

Level 92 Enchantment Chip (lots)

  • Minimum: 1,800,000
  • Maximum: 11,111,111 - Surprisingly, there were quite a few entries by quite a few sellers attempting to sell at this price so it doesn't seem like a outlier.
  • Median: 2,500,000 - Fortunately, there were more sellers selling at a saner price. A relatively large jump from the last snapshot.

Level 100 Enchantment Chip (14)

  • Minimum: 13,000,000
  • Maximum: 20,000,000
  • Median: 13,000,000 - Lower volume but it actually seemed to be cheaper.

Upgrade Accelerator (196)

  • Minimum: 1,550,000
  • Maximum: 2,000,000
  • Median: 1,750,000 - A big jump in price from the last snapshot at only a third the volume.

Enchant Booster (126)

  • Minimum: 1,100,000
  • Maximum: 1,450,000

Musketeer's lady swimsuit



Finally, we have the musketeer's swimsuit. It includes a purple amulet, armbands, and a yellow ring. Like the wizard and elementalist, the musketeer does not appear to have any tattoos.

Wizard's lady swimsuit

We didn't manage to get a closeup of the wizard's swimsuit last time. The wizard's swimsuit includes a choker necklace, 3 regular necklaces, and a bigger sarong with a K-Swiss badge. We also noticed the various footwear too but it's difficult to take photos of those.

After changing back to regular clothing, we noticed that the Clara Mago has many details too.

Elementalist's lady swimsuit

Our elementalist Eloise also tried out a new hairstyle today. We think it's called the gray sheephorn hairstyle. Other than the K-Swiss logo on the back and the lace purple fringe on the front, our elementalist doesn't have too many easily missed detailed. She also doesn't have any tattoos and we're not going to count the number of polka dots.


Fighter's Lady swimsuit

Our fighter Maria also wore her new hairstyle today. It's a short dark colored style. Little details for her swimsuit is an unflattering lower back tattoo, the tie of the string of the bikini top, the blue & red badge on the front with the K-Swiss logo, and even the 4 thread holes within each button of the sarong.

Scout's lady swimsuit

Since the server seemed to be unstable, we just spent some time relaxing at Gigante Island rather than exploring the world. Donning our swimsuits, we noticed little details that would be otherwise missed while fighting. This includes the Scout's butterfly tattoo, the K-Swiss logo on her bikini bottom, and even her bracelets.

Disturbing news from forums

Last night, we discovered on the forums that our favorite golf game was soon closing up. This means that for the next few days, we'll most likely be touring the courses and snapping photos for memories. The thread where we found this information was originally about randomly missing Gold which is quite disturbing to us. So the next time the world is stable and assuming we haven't lost any Gold, we should spend it all before something even worst happens.
