Swordbreaker

We also picked up a level 100 Main Gauche named Swordbreaker tonight at Scorching Plateau. It has an inherent +10 Block and a nice fiery glow. Only our Andre is of a high enough level to wield it . This is also our very first level 100 weapon other than the Ancestral Veteran weapons so we were taken aback when Andre's left side started glowing as if on fire.

Scorching Plateau

Getting tired of Skeleton Nest again, we asked our clan leader for a good training location. They suggested the Scorching Plateau so there we went. The Scorching Plateau is a dark dreary place, pretty similar the El Canon and this afternoon was our first extended stay in it. There were other families wandering around the map so it wasn't one of those abandoned areas. It was pretty difficult to find a scenic spot so we posed in the most scenic landmark we could find, which was a tall waterfall. Oh, and that outfit Eloise the Elementalist is wearing isn't a costume but a level 92 Elite La Ventisca.

During our few hours in Scorching Plateau today, we picked up a few items, including a Shaft Hammer recipe, and a recipe for a level 92 Elite La Ventisca. Crafting the Elite La Ventisca took nearly all our vis. The Elite La Ventisca recipe requires 1 Siren's Scale, 100 High Quality Cloth, 50 Mega Etretanium, 50 Mega Ionium, and 10 Triumph Fillers. The Siren's Scale recipe cost 30 million vis and it requires 3 High Quality Emeralds, 50 Solvents, 15 Triumph Fillers, and 1 Elemental Jewel to craft the accessory. Our clan leader helped us acquire 42 Mega Etretanium (we're too poor to afford it at the moment) and thus we were able to put our Andre and Karjalain to work in crafting the recipe. A noticeable difference from the level 100 +5 robe Eloise was wearing before is the higher Fire and Mental resistance.

Corsair Rosso

While we were at the market, we also purchased the headgear for the musketeer's Corsair Rosso outfit from Andre. It's not shiny but it matches the outfit well.

Capezzolo de Pericolo

Today, we brought the matching headgear from Andre for our scout's Capezzolo de Pericolo outfit. It's quite colorful and shiny.
The headgear also includes long hair.

Catherine party in Reboldeaux

Tonight, we have a gathering of robots. Catherine robots from various families all across the land heeded Everett's call and gathered around her in the city of Reboldeaux. In the above photo, they're the ones with the large white wings. We were one of the first families to arrive.
We even had a special guest appearance by G1-Fynlo who appeared as a girl in a pink dress with angel wings. It was an unexpected appearance as G1-Fynlo suddenly appeared out of thin air as some Catherine robots were running by.
Once we realized G1-Fynlo was there, we gathered around for photos.
The Catherine robots started to self organized into a line.
It almost looks like that Catherine on the far right was stabbed in the chest and an ugly thing is being perverted.
Eventually, G1-Fynlo had to disappear. By this time, more Catherine robots arrived.
Audience members like our Claire also started to gather around a nearby bench for a good view of the spectacle.
Critical mass was reached and even more Catherine robots arrived.
Unable to stay still, the Catherine robots started to play around.
We even had Catherine robots that carried a coffin and a tombstone arrive too.
At this point, the flow of new Catherine robots started to die down and we organized into a line.
For a better photo, it was better to cram together.

We think we probably had 30 Catherine robots gathered in front of the fountain today.
Once the party was over, the Catherine robots scattered. Some straggler stayed behind and released from snow and hearts. There was even a duel between Catherine summoners.

Last night's activities

Last night, we left Brunie and M'Boma on the beach, chaperoned by Grace. Our goal was to get M'Boma to level 60 such that he could learn the Levitation stance. He's not there yet but may be by the end of today if we're not distracted. Something curious was that after 8 hours, our Rifle bullet supply did not seem to go down at the expected rate. We weren't in a squad and we did not have a pet out to pick up items. Perhaps the server instabilities that we've been experiencing had something to do with it. In any case, as soon as we started checking the supply this morning, it was back to decreasing at the normal rate.

  • Median: 37 million
No Veteran Promotion Scrolls, Expert Promotion Scrolls, or Quarter Slots being listed at the time that we checked,

Late night's activity

Taking a break from Rion Hollows, we decided to let our other family members have some fresh air. Some members were let out to enjoy Port Coimbra and to try out the various footwear and gloves we've accumulated. A team was briefly sent on a journey from Via Fluvial all the way to Capybara Plantation. The highlight of the night was when we sent our Adelina The Pirate into Skeleton Dungeon Floor 1 alone. Within a few minutes in, one of the skeletons dropped a recipe for a level 84 Elite Pizarro.

As we don't have a Mysterious Steel Piece, a Capybara Sickle, or a level 84 Adelina (the one eyed one), we doubt we'll be using the recipe anytime soon. Perhaps it'll sell on the market at 1 million vis like the other equivalent recipes.

Back at Rion

We're back at Rion Hollows this weekend, training up an agile team suitable for the Battle Colosseum. Currently, the candidates are Baek Ho and Soso but we're also adding Lisa into the mix. A fellow clan member commented on how a character with the resurrection ability would be useful so we're considering recruiting a Rescue Knight as our other characters with the resurrection ability are all Veteran. Technically, we don't have a male scout yet so I guess he might work too.

Activities of the day

This afternoon and evening, we had Clair and Baek Ho (supported by Emilia) venture into Rion Prairie. As they survived that area well, we had them continue on into Rion Dungeon and eventually into Rion Hollow. As usual, the crocodiles, cockatrices, bears, and wolves were relentless. Clair's Sergent Breaker was put to extensive use but it was still a long but enjoyable fight into the center of Rion Hollow. Eventually, Clair and Baek Ho both reached level 61 and we realized that it would have been much more relaxing if we had brought Grace and her shotgun along instead of Emilia.

State of the economy

Mysterious Powder
  • Range: 3 - 3.12 million
  • Median: 3 million, prices were actually lower a few days ago but have risen again.
Pure Otite
  • Range: 6.5 - 6.7 million
  • Median: 6.7 million, there's only a few listing of these but enough to craft a weapon
Treasure Core
  • Range: 450 - 500k
  • Median: 500k, although there is a tight range in prices, these seem to be very popular tonight with listings by many different people and with a large number of items per listing. We wonder if this will be the new base price for it. Fortunately, we don't plan to sell our stock at the moment.
Upgrade Accelerator
  • Range: 4.8 - 5.3 million
  • Median: 5 million, these are also popular tonight with many different listings and items per listing
Enchant Booster
  • 4.5 million, unfortunately, these don't seem to be popular or some family may have brought up most of the supply. There were only 2 listings.
Level 84 Enchantment Chip
  • Range: 1.26 - 10 million, there's a poor soul who placed a single level 84 enchantment chip at 10 million. We actually know that new family and first met them a few days ago. Given their level, we wonder how they may have obtained that chip. Perhaps it was through a Bellum's Box? In any case, we should mention the market deposit the next time we encounter them.
  • Median: 1.59 million, overwhelming by a family named ~(*_*)~ who listed more than 350 of them.
Level 92 Enchantment Chip
  • Range: 6.43 - 10 million, some other family deviated from the norm and listed a chip for 10 million.
  • Median: 8 million, once again ~(*_*)~ listed a large amount of chips (perhaps over 120) and hence controlled the median price.
Level 100 Enchantment Chip
  • Range: 34- 35 million
  • Median: 34 million, mostly by Sophia-Maria who listed at least 35 split over 2 listings.
Veteran Promotional Scroll
  • Range: 80 - 85 million
  • Median: 85 million, there were only 2 listings with few items listed per listing, hence these are rare. What's funny is that there is a family broadcasting messages essentially demanding to buy these scrolls for only 70 million each. With each successive broadcast, their tone become softer and more reasonable. Given last week's prices, their offer to purchase did seem within range but then we saw this week's prices.
Expert Promotional Scroll
  • Range: 92 - 95 million
  • Median: 92 million, there were only 3 items total listed across 2 listings.
Quarter Slot - None at the moment and there are people broadcasting that they want to purchase some.

10 minutes in

Today, we got a ringside seat to watch the fight between Epiphany and TheOne/Ceres at El Tejado Verde. There were moans and there were screams but like a certain intense but fun activity, it was over within minutes. As expected, Epiphany lost (2 vs 1 doesn't seem quite fair after all) and TheOne took control of El Tejado Verde. Before we could reach Porto Bello Desolate Cliffs, it was overtaken by TheOne too. If something else happens later into the night, we'll write about it too.

Interesting afternoon at Gigante Beach

When someone says "hehe" on the beach, something sneaky must be about to happen. In this case, a family named Murasta (of The_Darkness clan) said that just moments before releasing at least 6 Thoracotomy on the west side of Gigante Beach. Like zombies straggling towards unsuspecting civilians, the sleeping beach goers were gruesomely eaten. Perhaps unexpectedly for him, 2 of his fellow clan mates -Washington- and ThunderWeed were also on the beach and got mauled. As we were awake, we moved around just out of reach up and down the beach. This went on for quite a long time before we were distracted by one of our clan mates who were wondering about what was going on over there and we were promptly mauled.

Since we were headed back to quarters, we switched to our undead killing team and took out the Thoracotomy with the help of a fellow clan member. Lesson of the day: Don't run while talking.

More uses of the cannon

Today, we discovered that the cannon was quite good at "pulling". As our Grace is quite efficient in killing targets around the immediate area, the area surrounding our team tends to be quite empty. Hence, to improve our kill rate, we had Claire use Minor Shot and Major Shot to draw aggravation from targets halfway across the beach. The Crabs and Coconut Crabs usually arrive within seconds while the Starfish take a lot longer.

Ballista stance

Today, we trained up Claire's Ballista stance to the point where she can use all its skills. Then we put it to the test within the Mansion. The normal attack does splash damage and it was funny to lob huge balls at the heads of enemies but due to the low accuracy, damage is variable. The part that makes this stance interesting is in the skills. Minor Shot shoots instantly if there is enough room otherwise Claire will automatically move out of the way to make room. Up to 7 targets are knocked down so this skill is very useful for crowd control. The drawback is that surviving targets who get back on their feet will concentrate their attention to Claire.

Cannon Bumper is another useful skill in that it hits up to 3 adjacent enemies. It's useful against targets who like to crowd around. Finally, Major Shot is like Minor except except that it hits 10 targets, has a farther range, and does more damage.. So a potential tactic is to start off with Major Shot, knock away anyone who gets too close with Cannon Bumper, and then finish with multiple Minor Shots. The normal automatic attack did not seem useful so far.

Solo in Porto Bello

Since the automatons and ghosts in Torsche's Mansion were still orange to our level 48 Claire, we had her venture by herself to Porto Bello Hold. It seems that there were a lot of barons in Porto Bello tonight and they seemed to be searching for something throughout the map and across the 3 channels. Within 2 hours of fighting by herself, Claire managed to reach level 51 and at that point, the targets turned brown as a sign that it was time to leave the area.

Evening's activities

This evening, our level 47 Claire and level 51 Baek Ho went for a stroll inside the first floor of Dr. Torsche's Mansion. As these youngsters can't be trusted alone, we had Emilia chaperone them. Even with Pioneer equipment, Claire and Baek Ho's levels were low for the area and as a result, they were prone to missing their targets. Whenever the Walters, Sashas, and Hollow Footmen coordinated their attacks, they were capable of knocking Claire and sometimes Baek Ho out. This does add an element of fun though and it was actually more enjoyable than getting sunburned at the beach. In addition, it was a good opportunity to restock our supply of Otite for Viki and listen to the nostalgic violin music.

Some items like Mysterious Powders, Upgrade Accelerators, and Enchant Boosts have gotten noticeably cheaper this week while enchantment chips have mostly held their value. We wonder if this means that people are purchasing more items from the bazaar to sell. As enchantment chips need to be worked for, their value hasn't dropped as much.

Something historical

Something historical happened on the faction war that just ended a few minutes ago. More than one colony were taken from TheOne/Ceres. This hasn't happened in at least a year. The Epiphany clan took El Tejado Verde and Porto Bello Desolate Cliff. The Aurora clan took Jezebel Glen. Unfortunately for the Aurora clan, the Ceres clan managed to retake Jezebel Glen mere seconds before time was up. The picture below shows the final results of this week's war. Two other clans were credited with helping in this event. One of them was Legionaire and we think the other one might have been ExplorerElite. This makes us excited to find out how next weekend's war will turn out.

Morning at the beach

Claire flirted with handsome men and played with fellow girls her age at the beach today. We haven't found a cannon for her to train her Ballista stance so we're still getting her Schiavona stance trained up. Once we get her to level 40, she will be able to use the pioneer greatsword we have in our warehouse. At the moment, she is using plain weapons brought from Adelina and loot from mobs. It's not that we can't afford a level 20 Ancestral Greatsword but the lifetime of use for it is too short to justify taking an inventory slot. We also helped a newly arrived family named Iisbest get the hang of how Granado Espada worked and leveled them abit on the beach and at Jezebel Glen.

Claire

We haven't journeyed these past 2 weeks so tonight, we decided to train Eduardo in Bonavista River. We wandered through the map and passed by quite a few Veteran and Expert level families there but we managed to find and defeat about 7 Elite Lightning Cockatrices in the span of perhaps 2 hours. For the last 2 cockatrices that we found within the last hour, we obtained the 2 Unknown Ores that Claire wanted. After some conversation between Claire and Claude, Claude had us adopt Claire as part of our family.

Perhaps our Claire needs some playmates her age soon. Viki doesn't qualify as that child is still quite confused.

It seems the economy is stabilizing with more items being listed in the market. There are finally some Pure Otite being listed and Mysterious Powders are ever so slightly cheaper.

No activities for our family this week other than a spot check of the market manager. The Old World is tempting us back with ice cream and kisses.
