Scarlet Underground

Tonight, we decided to explore the Scarlet Underground a little bit. The entrance to this is at Queen's Gate. Inside were various creatures like werewolves and ogres that were at least level 110. It was also very crowded with families at every corner. It's unfortunate that there is no map but we eventually made it to a seal door that we had to talk to Emilia about. Perhaps tomorrow we'll continue with the quest.

State of the economy

Mysterious Powder
  • One entry of 5 million
Pure Otite
  • Range from 7.3 - 7.4 million
  • Median at 7.4 million
Treasure Core
  • Range from 700K - 750K
  • Median at 700K
Enchant Booster
  • Range from 6 - 7 million
  • Median at 7 million
Upgrade Accelerator
  • 2 equal listing at 8.1 and 8.5 million
Veteran Scroll (no Expert scrolls unfortunately)
  • 140 million
Quarter Slot
  • Range from 33 - 37.5 million
  • Median at 37 million
Level 84 Enchantment Chip
  • Range from 1.35 - 2.5 million
  • Median at around 1.5 million
Level 92 Enchantment Chip
  • Range from 4.7 - 7.5 million
  • Median at around 5.9 million
Level 100 Enchantment Chip
  • Range from 20 - 35 million
  • Median at around 25 million. Perhaps slightly higher.
Of note this weekend was how relatively inexpensive the level 100 enchantment chips have become. It seemed like such a bargain that we brought 2 and still pondering on whether to buy more.

Grim Reaper Leader

After getting defeated by him over a dozen times, we managed to defeat him for the first time today in Feruccio Wall. It was a tough fight but without Jumeau Plaque interfering, it was only a matter of time before the leader fell. As the Jumeau Plaque spawn like rabbits, it was a race against time to kill the leader before a horde of Jumeau Plaque set upon us. There wasn't any interesting treasures from the leader but we get to see him spew yellow flower petals as he faded away.

On another topic, it seems the price of level 100 enchantment chips dropped suddenly yesterday. We managed to snag 2 of them for 20 million each and made a Veteran Ancestral Ice Bracelet and a Veteran Ancestral Fire Bracelet for the magic users of our family. We thought of possibly making more weapons but figured that we could make the elite level 92 versions of the melee weapons in the future.

Sun Stone

Just got our very first Sun Stone. It's worth some small amount of fesos if we sell it to Maria so we may do that later tonight. We're just so happy to be able to finally kill that rascally little treasure guy. For some reason, we couldn't attack it even after targeting it. Attempts to use Detection were unsuccessful as the little guy runs out of range quickly. It took a well placed Thunderstorm to finally trip him up.

Ancient Area

So we caved in yesterday and used our first Ancient Area pass. Our first team to enter was Eloise the elementalist, Iris the musketeer, and Florence the Scout. There was moderate success and we had to travel around to find a stable spot but eventually Iris ran out of pistol bullets while in Sight Shot. We switched the team to Louise the wizard, Florence, and Grace and found that it was much easier to survive. Grace's Gigante Blaster kept the mob in control and thus we were even able to survive in the middle of a room. At the moment, we changed to team to Eloise, Florence, and Grace. Grace is such a useful character that she's probably out of the barracks the most.

At the rate of which we collect Hard Clay, we estimate that it would take slightly more than a day to collect enough for a Cinderella armor.

Evening's activities

Tonight, we visited El Antiguo Patrimonio and was successful in passing it. Of note was encountering a Veteran Selvia by the wuwu family of the BooBoo clan. They must have already been prepared with ingredients to do her quest and had lots of Experience Cards to level her so quickly.

More tests

So last evening, we had our Adelina fight by herself in the third floor of Skeleton Nest. Whereas before she required 2 attack cycles to defeat the skeletons there, now she only needed one. This made her solo training there easier as the skeletons are no longer able to gang up on her.

We also tested out our Baek Ho and Lisa in Rion Hollows. Their ability to survive there unaided seems to have improved, perhaps due to them being able to defeat the wildlife there quicker. Perhaps we'll let them train there overnight someday.

Finally, we did a rough test of the experience gain from the lower level creatures by having Brunie and Tiburon train overnight (slightly less than 7.5 hours) with Grace at Gigante Beach. Fortunately, we were not interrupted but a family down the beach from us was not so lucky. The experience boost was noticeable as our Brunie went from level 59 to 64 while our Tiburon went from level 45 to 54. In the past, they would have only gained about 2/3rd as much. Another reason we chose Brunie and Tiburon was to prepare them for a test of their agility in combat as Brunie has 9 AGI and Tiburon has 8 AGI.

So version 3.0 is finally here. After 10 minutes of downloading the new patch, we were able to enter the world. The interface is prettier and the menus are more responsive. At least in the barracks, graphics performance was improved. Heading out into the world, we were pleasantly surprised to find the Experience Cards that we have collected now give 50% more experience. So the dozens of level 90 Experience Cards that used to give 100,000 experience points now gives 150,000 experience points. Checking out warehouse, we noticed that our temporary Diabolic Horns have been moved from the regular inventory into the premium equipment inventory. We guess that means they will count down if we equipped them.

We also noticed that they've changed the way experience is reported for Veteran characters. They have levels now but fortunately, the percentage is still given with 4 digits after the decimal point. (XX.XXXX). We'll have to try out our various family members to see how they perform with the agility update. Can't wait to try out Adelina The Pirate.

Quiet evening

The only treasure of moderate interest tonight as a recipe for an elite level 84 dragon bayonet. This recipe was found in Feruccio Wall and we doubt we will ever have a use of it due to it requiring a Mysterious Steel Piece to craft. We were pleasantly surprised that those maps were not empty tonight. We met someone from The_Darkness clan in Scorching Plateau looking for the map boss and there were two other families in Feruccio Wall.

Tonight's discussion within the clan involved the prices of certain items like the White Reaper ring. Apparently, someone listed it on the market for 80 million and we wondered if it actually sold at that price as there is now another listing for 85 million. We were interested to see if the ring will sell for anywhere near that price. A blank elite 92 Iron Pistol was also listed for 300 million but after calculating the cost of the ingredients, it sadly didn't seem so outrageous anymore. Perhaps we'll farm for Pure Otite sometime.

Various topics

Today, a third family in our cozy clan became eligible to be promoted to Master level (once the Master Promotion scrolls become available). It almost but not quite inspires us to get on the path to Expert. Perhaps we'll concentrate on a few characters to see how far they could reach and if they look promising, we may send them into an ancient area at the end of the month.

There's quite some fluctuation in market lately with it being almost bare in some day and flooded in others.
  • Mysterious Powers - 4.2 - 4.5 million, median of 4.5
  • Pure Otite - 7.3 - 8.1 million, median of 8
  • Treasure Cores - None listed at the moment. When we listed a bunch of ours at 500K, they were snapped up within minutes. As a result, we've reached a personal record in the amount of vis we are currently holding.
  • Upgrade Accelerator - 7.2 - 9.5 million, median of 9.5
  • Enchant Booster - 7.5 - 8.65 million, median of 8.5
  • No Promotional Scrolls of any kind listed
  • Level 84 Enchantment Chip - 1.2 - 1.6 million, median of about 1.5
  • Level 92 Enchantment Chip - 6.3 - 10 million, median of 9
  • Level 100 Enchantment Chip - 36 - 41 million, median of about 38

Back from vacation

After a week of vacation, we left the barracks to find things only little different. Our clan has gotten larger but the number of active members are pretty constant. It seemed that they had interesting activities while we were away. The market seemed emptier with several times that we constantly check to be missing (such as Pure Otite and Treasure Cores). Even the Mysterious Powders were missing earlier in the day. We took advantage of the lack of Treasure Cores to offload a bunch of ours and we pleasantly surprised to see them sell so quickly.

Half of today's activities consisted of exploring Feruccio Wall. It was survivable so long as the Jumeau Plaque do not gang together as their lightning attacks are deadly and has a long range. Another hindrance to our survival was the Grim Reaper Leader. We have yet to survive an encounter with him and had to be evacuated back to barracks quite a few times today because of it. Unfortunately, we did not find any treasures of interest today.

The other half of today's activities was spent chatting away at Gigante Beach. Nothing special there and our Brunie is very close to reaching level 60.

Near the end of the evening, we took a dip at the steaming waters of the Scorching Plateau but the boys of the DelCorno family wandered by and started gawking at us as if they've never seen people in swimsuits playing with water. It made us a bit self conscious so we backed away slowly.

People pics

It's a quiet evening in Port Coimbra so we were watching the people wandering by. One family that caught our eye was the clan leader of the Reminiscence clan who had 3 Diabolic Horns equipped when the all the other families in town had at most of one. Combined with their bright orange fiery weapons and glowing blue hoops at the waist, it made for a bright display. Perhaps we'll try equipping our Diabolic Horn too but for now, we'll head back into the barracks and go on a vacation for a few days. The symbolic end of the summer is coming after all.

Evening's activities

Tonight, we attempted to have our Fighter, Maria, hunt by herself in Bahamar Wetlands. She was using Mighty Cruz and it didn't work too well as it was a slow stance. This allowed the Swamp Graverobbers to bunch up and use their poison attacks. Physically, she is able to survive but the hunting was too slow to make it worthwhile.

Next she moved on to Skeleton Nest level 3. The first thing she saw there upon arrival was a Boneless. It took quite awhile to defeat that Boneless along with at least 2 dozen healing potions due to its magic attacks. After it was defeated, Maria spent a small amount of time smashing hordes of skeletons. However, it was quite boring so we moved on.

We visited El Antiguo Patrimonio tonight but our Royalist forces were not strong enough to take on the creatures in the first arena. It was defeating all who dared opposed it, including the Experts and various clan leaders. Needless to say, no one got past the Diablo in the next map although there was some evidence that someone tried.

To top the night off, we had Eloise, Iris, and Florence visit Feruccio Wall. Seeing as how they survived Scorching Plateau so well, we figured that it may be the same with Feruccio Wall. Indeed, it was slightly more difficult but quite survivable so long as no more than 6 targets attacked at the same time. We wondered if there were any interesting treasure that could drop there.

Another evening in the jungle

We spent another evening in the Bahamar Wetlands tonight. We did sneak a peek at the Bahamar Underground but felt that the creatures down there were too high in level. Nothing of interest was found tonight but Florence, our Scout, became the first family member to reach 20% Veteran. At this rate, it'll take a very long time for anyone to reach Expert. Perhaps we'll have to visit an ancient area sometime.

Within the Bahamar Wetlands, we were surprised by 2 separate families that snuck up on us. Although they were not dangerous, we were startled to discovered that we did not notice them approaching until they were standing next to us. Of course, sometime we lose track of Florence because of her green outfit. There's just so much plant life that provides good cover.

A delayed chuckle

Just remembered a funny event that happened a few days ago.
After agreeing to help a young family train their family member, we met up at the Mansion. Upon starting the hunt for the wolves, that family summoned a valkyrie crasher. Surprised, we asked them if they had brought it from a shop keeper in town. They confirmed it and also mentioned that it was expensive. Needless to say, that valkyrie crasher was a poor summon for the area and couldn't even keep up with our movements and was unsuccessful in even attacking one target. As consolation, we took them to the beach for a few hours.

Trekking in Bahamar Wetlands

Inspired by a fellow clan member yesterday, we spent the evening trekking through the Bahamar Wetlands. Tonight's team was Eloise the Elementalist, Florence the Scout, and Iris the Musketeer. We didn't bring one of our tougher characters as we wanted to test their survivability as in the past, it didn't go so well. This time, with better armor and weapons, Eloise came the tanker of the team while Iris was the damage dealer with Outrage.

There's always some excitement in waiting for her domination lightning stance skills to activate and knock out the surrounding creatures as some of them may be getting wise to it and interrupting it at the last moment with a well placed charge. As there were server issues today, we couldn't test our luck in the underground portion of the map. The only decent treasure of the night was a level 92 Silver Crossbow which we will convert to a chip someday.

Elementalist team?

Last evening, we experimented with a team of Vincent (in Possession Lightning stance), Elementalist (in Domination Lightning stance), and Scout in Scorching Plateau. The theory was that since the creatures there are weak to lightning based attacks (-50 resistance), using lightning would defeat them quickly. While the team was able to survive, the results were not as hoped. Due to the unpredictable nature of lightning (0 accuracy), some creatures could be defeated in 1 hit while others required many more. Combined with the naturally slow attack speed of spell attacks, it took time to defeat the creatures and they gathered up. We also tried having both spell casters in Possession Lightning stance but it did not make a major difference. Perhaps we'll try again if we can get both into Evocation or Domination stances.
