Summer Sale Play and Win

10 Constellation Symbol Boxes

Apparently we won the Summer Play & Win for Bristia on Friday, September 24, 2010.  The reward was 10 High Quality Emeralds and 10 Constellation Symbol Boxes.  We're not exactly sure which criteria we matched on last Friday night but it was a pretty typical evening of market browsing, some training, and probably Team Arena.

Viewing Reckless Emilia in action 4 : Spell Hail & Safe Guard

Spell Hail - We had multiple pictures of this but it was difficult to capture the falling hail.

Spell Hail - Now with more hail pieces!

Spell Hail - Even more pieces

Safe Guard - Reckless Emilia's personal skill

Thanks to Hardeh and kaelos for giving the demonstration of this rare character.

Viewing Reckless Emilia in action 3 : Spell Beads

Spell Beads - We assume those black orbs are the beads.  We actually only noticed this when reviewing the pictures.

Spell Beads - The black lines were actually what we saw since the beads were moving so quickly.

Spell Beads - We actually didn't notice the cloud of blood until we reviewed the pictures.

Viewing Reckless Emilia in action 2

Ele Invisibility - It was difficult to catch this spell in action since the effect is invisibility.  Fortunately, there are some aftereffects.

Gabi Earthquake - We think we named this correctly since the ground was breaking away and the target is thrown around.
Third Element - We initially mistook this as the effect of some other spell but we think we matched it correctly based on the description.

Viewing Reckless Emilia in action 1

Starting position
Participants at the ready.  Hardeh with Selvia and kaelos with Emilia
Surprise chicken attack! Just kidding
Last evening, we were fortunate enough to see a demonstration of Reckless/Sorceress Emilia's powers.  Most of it were demonstrations of the skills of her Madness stance and there was one demonstration of her personal skill Safe Guard.  On the other side, Selvia had some sort of buff skill that allowed her to survive just about every single skill attack with the exception of one.  That particular one came so fast that we weren't sure what skill it was but it did seem to leave a transparent floating skill behind.

Katana and Magnum

Last night, we got a close look at the Katana and the Magnum.  The Katana appears to be a sabre and at first, we thought it was a Fire Gate weapon due to the fiery glow.  The Magnum has a familiar sparkle that reminded us of that other golden pistol.

Interesting Team Arena (but was it in a good way?)

Last night's Team Arena was interesting but we're not sure if it's interesting in a good way.  Usually, we would attend Team Arena with a set group of people.  There are some rotations but the pool of people has been pretty consistent.  However, it was different last night because the family I was helping earlier in the evening happened to be in the squad and wanted to join us.

So the event started well enough and now there is one extra family to supply Arena Coins to.  We did manage to traverse the map to hunt down the Giant Komodos in search of coins.  The issues really only started when it came time to defeat the other team's Dios.  Although we did warn the new family several times, got them to put away their pet, and made it clear that they were not to pick up the items that fell upon the defeat of Dios, they apparently ignored it and picked up a great majority of the items.

Fortunately, they did return almost all of the items with the possible exception of one ring.  We couldn't really confirm what was returned as we were not the recipient but the most important item, the Symbol of Aquarius, was apparently returned which defused the tension.  In the end, the new family was able to get the Carbon Gaiters that they were quite eager to keep for their Gracielo.

On an unrelated topic, we did manage to get a front row seat on a stance demonstration yesterday.  There are many pictures to process so it may be awhile before we make an entry about it.

We joined the InstantNoodle clan tonight.  We've seen their clan around for years and have been participating in Team Arena with them for quite a few nights.

A wrinked eyebrow

Tonight, while we were helping a random new family with the Mysterious Alter quest in Skeleton Nest, we were attacked by the cowardly jabbawwakies family of the FALCON clan.  We say that they are cowardly because we watched them circle around us for quite a while before their wizard casted Invisible such that they could sneak into the center of our squad and then turn on their baron mode.  At least the other families who go baron have the decency to be baron before attacking.  As jabbawwakies is the clan leader of FALCON, this gives us a very negative opinion of their entire clan and reinforces the negative statements that we have heard about their members.

As we "saw" their attack coming when they went invisible, we hold no grudges against them and instead pity them for resorting to such tactics.

Capybara Sickle

First time we've seen a Capybara Sickle up close.  An interesting feature of it is the square hold near the hilt.  The weapon doesn't normally glow and is glowing here because it is upgraded to +5.

Elite Treasure Chest

We finally opened the 5 Elite Treasure Chests that had appeared in our inventory one day.  We received the following:
  1. Enchantment Chip level 92 x 5
  2. Earth Stone x 5
  3. Enchantment Chip level 96 x 2
  4. Enchantment Chip level 100
  5. Enchantment Chip level 100

Farewell, our purple lined Najib

Tonight, we used the mercenary feature for the very first time and traded away our purple lined Najib to the Xenesis family.  We hope that he will have a good future there as he would otherwise be lounging around in our quarters.  The mercenary action bumped our family level back to level 27 (93%) from level 28 (4%).  Perhaps we'll recruit and train more family members in order to boost up the family level again.  Likely candidates include Yegenah, the Rescue Knight, and the male cast of stock characters.  We think we may need some handsome male models to try out the new outfits.

Capybara Guard & Flowerpot Shovel

Capybara Guard
Flowerpot Shovel - A main gauche
Tonight, a friend of ours managed to pick up some interesting weapons in Via Fluvial so we took a few pictures of them.  We heard that they may be used for some high level weapon recipes.

Sharffenberger Swashbuckle Event

Sharffenberger the Cursed
Trying to find the AM
Tonight, we managed to catch one of the last iterations of the Sharffenberger Swashbuckle Event.  After defeating the first Sharffenberger, a 2nd Sharffenberger appeared and it went down quickly.  It was all fine and good and we managed to take a few photos of the gathering.  It was when G1-Fynlo said to contact him for the reward that the nightmare started.  The lag suddenly became terrible and we were unable to find him to trade with him for the reward.  Someone also lured Decarabia out of his cave which got us knocked out.

As a result, the only thing we got out of this event were a few pictures and some bad feelings.

We also left our clan tonight and shall remain without a clan for the next 7 days.

Deep grudge against TheWho.0 for sneaking up and attacking people in Skeleton Nest.
By extension, against TheWho.1 too.

Training a purple Najib

Tonight in relation to this post, we recruited and started training a purple outlined Najib.  It was tedious work actively training him but we managed to get him from level 1 to level 48 in the span of 2 hours.  Our combat Catherine also tagged along for the training and is now level 63.  We'll probably take a more relaxed approach in training him tomorrow to push him to level 50.

Day 30 - Final Day

Boost Potion x5 - Overall, it was not a bad month when we tried out the Premium Treasure Chest for the first time.

Thursday, September 16, 2010

Day 29

Progressive Painkillers x10 - Woo, drugs again.

Wednesday, September 15, 2010

Day 28

Lv 96 Enchantment Chip x5 - Hmm... perhaps we'll sell these depending on the market prices.

Le Noir for Wizard

Tonight, we helped the Conella family in crafting the Le Noir for Wizard recipe.  It required 5 Level 26 Coat crystals and since they already had 2, we had to get 3 more.  To do that, our Andre crafted 3 Elite Albaes (1 recipe from Conella, 1 from sm0te, and 1 from us) such that they can be broken into the crystals in El Dorado.  We also had our Karjalain craft the Seed of Rafflesia.  With the Le Noir crafted, our wizard modeled it and borrowed it for our Emilia.

Ethereal Treasure Chest

We also discovered 5 Ethereal Treasure Chests in our inventory today as the last portion of the DNS compensation.  From it, we picked up 50 Great Stones.  Guess Pet Food won't be an issue now.

Day 27

Combat Manual (Master) 7 Day x 1 - Gives 50% experience

Combat Catherine

Last Saturday, we explored the Mansion on a whim and found Catherine's Left Arm from a Lloyd. We've never found one before as we brought the first one off the market for our summoner Catherine. Blessed with the good luck, we roamed the corridors and rooms for half an hour and found Catherine's Left Hand. A second later (or maybe at the same time), Catherine's Pelvis also dropped from a Lloyd. In celebration, we had a combat Catherine (STR version) made for us with the parts that we've found. We named her Souseiseki which seems fitting.

Day 26

Symbol of Pisces - This makes it the 2nd symbol that we received from the Premium Treasure Chest this month.

Sunday, September 12, 2010

Day 25

Progressive Mithridart x10 - Gives level 11 Insistendo buff for 1 hours. Hmm... the Mysterious Chest prizes haven't been so good lately.

Ogre Pole-axe

Tonight, we got a close look at the Ogre Pole-axe. It is a 30 AR Polearm for Veteran characters. It has a distinctive sharp green glow but not much detail on the weapon itself. When not in use, the other end of the stick seems to be buried in the ground.

Another Reckless Emilia sighting

We had another sighting of kaelos's Reckless Emilia in Auch, the only Reckless Emilia in all the 3 servers. This time, she wasn't surrounded by other people so we were able to compose a good picture.

Sir Lyndon's Coat

Early this afternoon, we saw someone selling a few Sir Lyndon's Coats on the market for a mere 5 million vis, so we brought one. It's pretty rare to sell body costumes being sold at that price nowdays.

Day 24

Progressive Painkiller x10 - Gives level 11 Forte for 1 hour. Ohh, drugs.

We also got 5 Quarters Slots today as part of the DNS compensation. We'll be using those to expand our quarters again.

Finally, the Slania family showed us the Clarcana costume for the scout. It's color is sort of interesting. Her paints reminds us a bit of a jester's.

Black Wisteria

Next, the Slania family showed us their Calypso wearing the Black Wisteria outfit. There's quite some detail in it including the small jade-like pendent.

Mabro Peira full set

Tonight, the Slania family showed us how the latest fashion looked like. First up was the Mabro Peira hat which completes the Mabro Peira outfit. Note that the wings are not included but we thought they matched well with the rest of the outfit.

Capybara Plantation

Last night, our clan (well, just one other family and us) visited the Capybara Plantation for a change of pace. The capybara there seemed soft to our bullets so we decided to hunt the Golden Bats instead. Not entirely sure on the concept of the Food Packs, one of us lead the Golden Bats in circles (around the gorge and pillars) while the other attacked from behind. There was a time when we were knocked out though as we were slow in stepping away. We collected about a dozen Capybara Keys before leaving the area.

Day 23

High Quality Emerald x5 - Hmm... we suppose this may come in useful in create armor recipes.

Thursday, September 9, 2010

Day 22

Level 90 H x6 - At least it's useful. We're attempting to get our summoner Catherine to level 100 using these cards.

Wednesday, September 8, 2010

Day 22

Eyeglass Box x5 from which dropped:
  1. Glasses for Male Musketeer
  2. Andre's D+G Sunglasses for the male Scout
  3. Glasses for the male scout
  4. Glasses for the female scout
  5. Andre's D+G Sunglasses for the female Elementalist
Of the 5, only the fifth one is useful.

We also noticed that we received 5 Secret Area passes. It must be the start of the DNS downtime compensation.

Qualified Metal Belt Recipe

Tonight, we found a Qualified Metal Belt recipe while farming for experience cards in the Bahamar Wetlands. We're not entirely sure what this belt would do if we were to make it. It requires 1 Metal Belt, 50 Composite Steel, 30 Level 96 Enchantment Chips, and 3 Elemental Jewels.

Day 21

Level 90 H Experience Cards x 6 = These give 920k each.

Monday, September 6, 2010

Day 20

Leather Armor Crystal level 26 x2 - At least it's better than more Robe Armor Crystals...

Angler Hunting

We stayed up unusually late into the midnight hours last night to help with the hunting of Anglers. Only one Swamp Angler appeared while there are more than 7 Bog Anglers. We thought there were more Bog Anglers though but lost track after the 5th one as there were multiple people who used the spinelles. The particular location chosen was the first was us but the reason for it was because Ryrin's Heart granted buffs to those who gave it Pure ores. With its Accelerando buff, our Brunie reached the speed cap of 10 for the first time. The drawback was that the anglers liked to hit on her quite often.

Sunday, September 5, 2010

Day 19

Red Arsene Ticket Recipe - We were hoping to get one of these so that we wouldn't need to buy it off the market.

Saturday, September 4, 2010

Day 18

Soul Crystal x5 = It's one of the more useful if cheap items.

Team Arena results for 9/4

Tonight's Team Arena was a challenge as the other team had put up quite a fight. After losing to them a few times (and losing our Arena coins in the process), we resorted to giving the coins to the better equipped families such that they can reach their maximum buff enchantments quickly.

During the fight, we obtained a green rough stone and a blue rough stone. We later refined these to an Apatite and a Zircon. Putting in one more jewel, we refined the 3 into a Good Quality Apatite.

After we achieved victory, we obtained 2 level 96 enchantment chips from the chest. The final rewards were divided by the fireworks method (which generates a random number) and we received 4 level 92 enchantment chips and a High Quality Emerald from it.

Uraeus Mission (Uranus ?)

Tonight, we attended Mission: Uraeus for the very first time. Conella made the Uranus Scale and Bagram was the tour guide. We initially had some issues getting to the proper side of the Bahamar Underground but managed to do it by visiting the Bahamar Murky Bayou. There, we were told not to attack the Uraeus Minions that appear from the eggs as they emit some sort of poison that lowers AR/DR and Def.
It was obviously not an easy fight and all we could do was watch as Bagram defeated Uraeus at least three times. The only survivor of our team was Louise and that was because she was levitating and drinking SP potions.
We left quite a trail of Minions behind us.

Unfortunately, the rewards were relatively poor. In fact, we heard that it was the worst imaginable as only 2 Mega Talts came from the 2 Reward Chests. Uraeus itself dropped a Bracelet of the Great Soul, Rosa Matrimonio, and a recipe for the Elite Pendera Jacket.

Day 17

Triumph Filler x5 - This is useful to us for crafting elite level 92 armor recipes.

Some pictures from Capybara area

After Team Arena last night, there was a display of a few of the weapons found in the lands where the Capybara roam. Shown above is the Branch, which is a staff that has an AR of 23. That pretty much explained why we've never seen it before last night. Shown below is the Pickaxe which we've seen a few times around town but never in good lighting to take photos.
